Open base stations

An infrastructure project with the aim of additional use of electricity resources.

The design of the collocation for open base stations is based on the adopted strategy of Stelkom as one of the infrastructure projects, with the aim of additional use of available electricity sources on the infrastructure of the electricity system in Slovenia.

The service is intended for all mobile and broadcasting operators for the installation of transmitting antennas and equipment on the transmission line pole or on other suitable infrastructure in the environment of electric power facilities.

The possibilities for installing base stations are limited, especially in rural areas. The use of suitable transmission poles with the proximity of a low-voltage connection is a very favorable solution from both technical and environmental point of view, as it significantly reduces the degradation of space with new antenna towers.

We provide our clients with the use or rent of technically equipped collocation, on which all technical conditions for the safe installation of equipment and reliable operation of the operator’s base station are provided.

Significant growth in data traffic is expected in the field of mobile networks in the coming years. The electricity system with thousands of existing transmission lines and other suitable infrastructure can largely meet the needs of operators for new base station locations. At the same time, it contributes to the reduction of additional degradation of space with new towers and leads to the achievement of the accepted goals of the digital agenda of the Republic of Slovenia.
